Ontario buyers toured about 10 sizable condominium suites across Calgary, including a few in three buildings forming the Wedgewoods community by the Elbow River. This two-bedroom had windows overlooking Griffith Woods Park. With some negotiation, the buyers shaved $30,850 off the asking price.

“We wanted to focus on the building after we’d seen some good units there, so we submitted an offer relatively quickly after seeing it for the first time,” said the buyers’ agent, Kamil Lalji.

“They wanted something with an unobstructed view and the forest behind [the building] is gorgeous. When we were there the first day on the balcony, almost on cue, a deer came out of the forest; it was magical.”

“There are not a lot of complexes like this,” said Mr. Lalji. “It’s quite large by Calgary standards.”

“It backs onto a beautiful nature reserve and it’s also close to mountain biking and hiking trails.”
