The action

Agent Krista Bradley waited months for the best time to list this four-bedroom house two kilometres east of the Blue Mountain ski resort. She launched the property onto the market as resale transactions in the area gained momentum in early September.

“The spring market in Blue Mountain is typically very slow, very much an opposite market than what you’d expect in the [Greater Toronto Area],” said Ms. Bradley.

But she said she did not anticipate the degree of pent-up buyer demand in the area.

When Ms. Bradley sold another three-bedroom house, the agent for a buyer who had missed the opportunity to bid on it asked Ms. Bradley if she had any other leads, and she suggested 135 Sycamore St. The agent and their buyer quickly composed an offer at $9,000 under the asking price, which was accepted.

“He booked the one and only showing that the property had,” Ms. Bradley said.

“For us to have that firm offer so quickly with no conditions, it was literally the best-case scenario.”

The agent’s take

“This layout is consistently popular with families due to the number of bedrooms,” Ms. Bradley said.

“The house is located on a beautiful street with nice sightlines to the hills, and the front porch and back covered porch give it that ski chalet vibe.”
