The action
In a slow market this fall, it took nearly five weeks to get more a dozen visitors through this corner unit with two bedrooms and a den in a two-tower complex across from Eglinton subway station. But as soon as one person made an offer another quickly followed suit, bidding $12,100 over the asking price.
“My seller was fortunate,” said agent Ira Jelinek.
“At 2191 Yonge, there were some units for sale, but there was only our unit at 2181 Yonge for sale. A couple of people wanted to be in our building instead.”
The 17-year-old tower is less than 40 storeys tall, while its sister tower is over 50 storeys.
“This is a year older, but a bit quieter and a smaller building,” Mr. Jelinek said.
“Each one offers different things, like 2181 Yonge has a nicer gym, and 2191 Yonge has a nicer lobby.”
