The action
Agent Ira Jelinek ushered his clients with a growing family through 10 properties around the Scarborough Bluffs. The buyers were looking for a house with updated finishes and a flexible floor plan. This semi-detached bungalow met those requirements and, better yet, had recently reduced its asking price. Negotiations brought the price down further still, and a deal was settled at $31,500 below the most recent asking price.
“This was brand new inside, and they were looking for something with a basement with good ceiling heights,” Mr. Jelinek said.
“It was a notch above everything else, and the price was even better than most of the ones we saw.”

What they got
This brick-and-stone bungalow with a built-in garage is on a 29- by 163-foot lot at the bend of a quiet street.
The main floor has three bedrooms and one bathroom, as well as open-concept living and dining areas with pot lights.
The kitchen was refinished with new cabinetry, quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances.
There is a separate side entrance to a basement apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a recreation area.

The agent’s take
“This is really close to the lake, about 750 metres, and there’s a nice park on the lake too,” said Mr. Jelinek.
“The lot size was really good too. It had a huge side yard and a huge backyard.”
