The house has been updated over the past few years with various luxuries. The Weir Team

When agent Ira Jelinek met these buyers, they were in search of a very specific target: a detached house with four bedrooms and a potential rental suite in the east or west end of Toronto. In fact, they already had a specific house in mind, about a block north of the Danforth, between Woodbine Avenue and Main Street. Set on their quarry, they bid an additional $101,000 over the list price to keep it out of the hands of other buyers.

“They saw it at an open house over the weekend, and on Tuesday, when they bought it, there were multiple offers,” said Mr. Jelinek. “The value was reasonable at the purchase price.”

What they got

The kitchen has stainless-steel appliances. The Weir Team

This two-storey house on a 25- by 100-foot lot has been updated over the past few years with various luxuries, such as heated floors in the largest of three bathrooms and stainless-steel appliances in the kitchen.

The living and dining rooms both have pot lights and hardwood flooring. The basement is outfitted with a kitchen and entertaining area and has a side entrance to a mutual driveway, garage, covered back porch and a fenced-in yard.

The agent’s take

“The majority of houses [in the area] have three bedrooms, so this one had four bedrooms for a larger family,” said Mr. Jelinek. “It was very close to walk to the Danforth and also the subway line.”
