The action
This two-bedroom townhouse in a building directly on Mill Pond and within walking distance of Thornbury Harbour came on the market at the height of summer. It compared favourably in price with the only other unit in the complex for sale, a four-bedroom unit priced at almost double the cost. The eventual buyers attended two open houses and submitted an offer shortly after.
“Usually in that price point, properties sell within 30 to 60 days, but that one sold the first weekend it was up,” agent Eva Landreth said.
“It’s walking distance to Thornbury, which is great, and what’s also really special is that there is a pond right behind there.
“There was one [other unit] for sale, but at a higher price point – around $1.6-million. And it was right on the water and the biggest unit in there,” Ms. Landreth said.
“Ours was in the $800,000s, so it was more enticing for people.” The buyers negotiated $50,000 off the asking price.
