The action
The house had been priced at $899,000 without getting offers. At a relisted price of $799,000, listing agent Ian Watt called buyers who had shown interest, and three offers came in the same day. One offer was from a buyer who didn’t even view the property, the other was higher than asking but with a long closing date, and the lowest offer had a quick closing date. The seller, based in Victoria, accepted the low offer that closed in two weeks.
“The house was like it was almost new, but the problem was nobody had lived in it for years, and it needed updating; cosmetic things,” Mr. Watt said. “But it was such a good deal.”
The living area is large and features laminate floors, skylights and a fireplace.
What they got
This two-storey, 2,132-square-foot home has panoramic, unobstructed waterfront views. With 17-foot vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan, the house is filled with natural light.
The living area is large, with laminate floors, skylights, a fireplace, a small kitchen with an island eating area and pot lights. The primary bedroom is on the main level, along with a family room.
Downstairs is another bedroom, a laundry room and recreation room with a bar. The house had been freshly painted.
The home has been recently painted.
The agent’s take
“As soon as we lowered the price, we got multiple offers. This one shows you how important pricing is,” Mr. Watt said. “Buyers won’t pay last year’s price.”
