If you've settled back into the work routine, but things don't seem quite right, perhaps it's because your job is unsuitable. On the Dumb Little Man site, blogger Steve Roy lists eight signs that it's time to look for a new job:

1. You are a miserable SOB. Your job is sucking all the joy from your life and is making your life, and your co-workers' lives, miserable.

2. You dread going into work each day. When the alarm goes off, the fear and stress of what's ahead are overwhelming.

3. It's affecting your health.

4. It's stealing your dreams. "Do not give up on your dreams, ever," Mr. Roy declares.

5. There is no room for growth. Personal growth is something we should all experience, and if it's stifled by your job, then it's time to look elsewhere.

6. You know it's the wrong job - and unlike those bad jobs you had in high school or university, this one isn't temporary.

7. It's not aligned with your values. That's something Mr. Roy struggles with, working in the financial industry where he feels greed is the prevalent force. "If your company stands for something that you don't believe in, it's time to get that résumé out," he says.

8. It's a complete waste of your time, and you would prefer something more meaningful.
