The Canadian dollar is back in familiar territory. The loonie closed at 79.86 cents (U.S.) on Monday, down 0.57 of a cent on the day. It's the first time the Canadian dollar has closed below the 80-cent mark since April 13. "CAD is expected to weaken into year-end, with pressure driven by the Fed's anticipated normalization and the Bank of Canada's (BoC) neutral stance," Scotiabank said Monday in an outlook.
