More than half - 53 per cent - of Canadians are in their current jobs because they love them, a new survey by job site Workopolis finds.
Another 16 per cent say they don't love their jobs but are in them because they pay the bills. As well, 14 per cent like the safety and are afraid to make a change, 8 per cent see it as having lots of potential, and 6 per cent consider it a stepping stone to something more desirable, according to the survey of 577 Canadians.
And what would make their love of their job grow stronger? Among the factors they cited were better compensation, better work/life balance, more learning and development opportunities, more doors open to advancement, more commitment to social responsibility and a better company culture. Staff
