Martinrea International Inc. says it and Magna International Inc. have settled a lawsuit, including the wrongful dismissal suit brought by Martinrea chief executive officer Fred Jaekel against the auto parts maker. Magna sued Brampton, Ont.-based Martinrea, which was previously known as Royal Laser Tech Corp., and its senior officers over Royal's hiring of Mr. Jaekel and Nick Orlando from Magna unit Cosma International Inc. Royal Laser said in October, 2001, that Magna was claiming damages of $50-million because it suffered from the executive losses.
