Gluskin Sheff and Associates says Pamela Wallin has tendered her resignation from its board as the scandal surrounding the independent senator's expenses and resident province deepens.
Gluskin Sheff CEO Jeremy Freedman confirmed the report Friday morning.
Ms. Wallin had been a member of the Toronto-based investment manager's board for seven years and has cited Toronto as her home in corporate filings.
The move comes at a time when Ms. Wallin is already facing questions about her Senate expenses. While she has repaid thousands of dollars of expenses, her file is still under examination by an accounting firm.
Gluskin Sheff's documents have cited Ms.Wallin's residence as Toronto since she joined the board in 2006 when the company launched on the Toronto Stock Exchange. She was appointed as Senator of Saskatchewan in December 2008.
Ms. Wallin has publicly stated that Saskatchewan is her home on several occasions.
