Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Tim Watson as a managing director and head of the bank's Canadian energy and power investment banking business based in Calgary.

Mr. Watson will report to both Scott Van Bergh, managing director and head of energy investment banking in the Americas, and Dan Mida, managing director and head of investment banking in Canada.

He comes to BofA Merrill from CIBC in Calgary, where he was managing director, energy. Prior to his stint at CIBC, Mr. Watson spent 17 years at RBC Dominion Securities in a variety of positions in San Francisco, Houston, and Calgary.
