Dave Cheadle starts this week at Black Spruce as a managing director, according to a source familiar with the move. Mr. Cheadle will run the firm's transaction services business as well as its oil field services practice.

He was most recently a vice-president at Raymond James, where he once worked with Black Spruce's partners, Sonny Mottahed and Jeff Barber.
