Dundee Goodman Private Wealth's former retail head has resurfaced at a competitor.

John Cucchiella, who was dismissed from Dundee Goodman in July 2015, has joined National Bank Financial as its national sales manager for Central, Western and Atlantic Canada.

Mr. Cucchiella was head of the retail adviser channel at Dundee Goodman for more than four years.

In an interview, he said the opportunity to go to National Bank arose when Dennis Stewner, his predecessor, resigned in April.

"I think they [National] are a phenomenal firm," Mr. Cucchiella said. "They have incredible energy and passion and just an incredible entrepreneurial spirit."

Mr. Cucchiella isn't the only former Dundee Goodman employee to recently jump to National Bank. Well-known retail brokers Paul Vorstadt and Brett Kowan, who worked alongside Mr. Cucchiella at Dundee Goodman, also recently joined the firm.

Eleven months after leaving Dundee, Mr. Cucchiella made it clear he harbours no hard feelings toward the firm. "It was a very amicable, clean departure," he said.

In January, Dundee Goodman, which had about $3.5-billion in assets under administration, was sold to Euro Pacific Canada, now Echelon Wealth Partners.
