HSBC Plc has put a new face in charge of its Canadian investment banking business.

  • HSBC said Jeff Allsop is now head of global banking, Canada. He spent the last three and a half years overseeing global coverage of infrastructure funds out of London. His new Toronto-based role will include being the contact person for Canadian pension funds.
  • Jim Mahaffy, who had been one of HSBC's two co-heads of global banking for Canada, has been made a vice chairman and will have senior client coverage responsibility. He remains in Toronto.
  • Rod McIsaac, the other half of the former co-head of global banking team in Toronto, has left the firm "to pursue other interests," HSBC said.
