Royal Bank's global asset management group has lured Eric Lascelles away from TD to become the business unit's chief economist. At RBC Mr. Lascelles will be involved in everything from global economic forecasting to coming up with views on things like interest rates, currencies and corporate valuations.
Before making the move Mr. Lascelles was chief macro strategist for Canada at TD Securities, where he oversaw a team of economists and bond strategists. Mr. Lascelles was previously a fixed income strategist at TD, as well as a research economist at Statistics Canada.
He starts his new role next Monday.
