Pitching

Marc Rzepczynski (2-2) struck out eight and had a better breaking pitch, but the Detroit Tigers made him pay when he was up in the zone. A scoring change after the game that gave Aaron Hill a single in the fifth inning changed Rick Porcello's two-hitter to a three-hitter.

Hitting

Casper Wells's two-run double in the sixth inning made it 4-0 and, dare we say it, the Blue Jays didn't have a ghost of a chance after it. Adam Lind's 19th home run in the ninth off Jose Valverde made the rotisserie types happy.

Notes

Lind had a tough day in his fourth start at first base, failing to come up with a foul ball and looking uncertain most of the afternoon. "There's a few things we need to find out about next year," manager Cito Gaston said. … The Tigers' Miguel Cabrera doubled in the first inning to become the fourth Tiger to top 300 total bases in three or more consecutive seasons. He's in good company, joining Hall of Famers Hank Greenberg (1937-40), Charlie Gehringer (1934-36) and Harry Heilmann (1923-25). Cabrera's double drove in his 107th run, moving him eight ahead of runner-up Jose Bautista of the Blue Jays. … The Blue Jays placed third baseman Edwin Encarnacion on the 15-day disabled list after Saturday's game and recalled infielder Mike McCoy from Triple-A Las Vegas.
