Troy Tulowitzki hit his second homer in as many games to lead the Toronto Blue Jays over the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2 on Sunday.
Following a two-out double by Jose Bautista in the first inning, Tulowitzki connected off A.J. Schugel for a long drive to left field. The five-time all-star also homered against Houston on Friday.
Toronto starter Marco Estrada had an up-and-down debut after missing nearly four weeks with back soreness, yielding a towering homer to Andrew McCutchen.
The right-hander walked John Jaso to lead off the game before McCutchen's fourth home run of spring training.
After walking David Freese and giving up a single to Starling Marte, Estrada settled down to retire six straight. He was lifted after McCutchen walked with no outs in the third.
Ryan Goins had a go-ahead double for Toronto in the fifth.
Soriano retires
Relief pitcher Rafael Soriano has announced his retirement from baseball after 14 seasons in the major leagues.
The 36-year-old Soriano signed a minor-league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays last month. He never reported to spring training because of visa issues in his native Dominican Republic.
The Blue Jays posted a note from Soriano on Sunday saying he was done.
Soriano pitched six games for the Chicago Cubs last July after signing as a free agent, going 2-0 with a 6.35 ERA. His last full season came in 2014 with the Washington Nationals.
An all-star with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010, the right-hander ranked eighth among active pitchers with 207 career saves. He also spent time with the Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees.
