Veteran WNBA forward Isabelle Harrison has signed with the Toronto Tempo, the team announced on Sunday.

Entering her 10th season in the league, the 32-year-old will add frontcourt size, depth and postseason experience to Canada’s new expansion team.

The 6-foot-3 forward spent last year with the New York Liberty, averaging 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds. She was selected 12th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2015 WNBA draft. She’s also played for Dallas, Chicago and San Antonio.

“I’m happy to be part of something new and I’m ready to get the season started,” said Harrison in a statement.

She has career averages of 7.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and one assist per game, shooting 47.5 per cent from the field over her time in the league.

“Isabelle brings toughness, experience, and versatility to our frontcourt,” said Monica Wright Rogers, general manager of the Toronto Tempo in a statement.

“She’s a proven professional who understands her role, competes on every possession, and provides valuable depth and leadership as we continue to shape our roster.”

After selecting 11 players in last week’s WNBA expansion draft, the Tempo continue building their inaugural roster through free agency and via the entry draft, which takes place on Monday in New York.

The 30th WNBA season – Toronto’s first – tips off on May 8.
