At last, the Toronto Argonauts have a quarterback and his name is Bell - Dalton, not Kerwin.

The Argos acquired the 27-year-old from the Saskatchewan Roughriders yesterday (Bell's birthday), in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2010 CFL draft. The pick originally belonged to the Riders before they traded it to Toronto last year for import offensive lineman Cliff Washburn.

Bell spent all of last season on Saskatchewan's practice roster, after signing with the CFL team in October of 2008.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Texan spent time in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers after his university career at West Texas A&M.

Argos general manager Adam Rita said the club was "fortunate to obtain the playing rights of Dalton Bell. He's a young quarterback with a bright future. He is a good candidate to come to Toronto and compete for a quarterback spot."

Bell is the only quarterback currently on the Argonauts roster. The team is reportedly are also chasing former Buffalo Bills pivot Gibran Hamdan.
