Cowboys tight end Jason Witten signed a five-year contract extension with the Cowboys.
The deal is worth up to $37-million with $19-million guaranteed and run through the 2017 season.
Witten had two years remaining on his existing deal with base salaries of $3.3-million this season and $3.6-million in 2012.
In 2006, he became the highest-paid tight end in the NFL at the time he signed a seven-year, $29.5-million deal with $12-million in guarantees.
Witten is on pace to become the franchise's all-time receptions leader at some point during the 2012 season.
