Ottawa kicker Matthew Falvo kicked a 30-yard field goal in overtime to help the undefeated Gee-Gees to a 27-25 victory over Queen's in Canadian Interuniversity Sport football action Saturday.
Second-ranked Ottawa improved to 5-0 while the Gaels fell to 1-3.
Falvo also hit a 26-yard field goal with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime.
"Actually I have not had a game winning kick in quite a while so it feels good to get into that pressure situation for once and show my teammates that I got the stones for it," said Falvo.
Also in CIS football Saturday, it was: No. 4 Dinos 26, Bisons 25; No. 5 Mustangs 15, Gryphons 8; No. 8 Mauraders 39, Lancers 3; No. 9 Gaiters 18, Stingers 17; Mounties 23, Huskies 21; and Wilfrid Laurier 68, York 14; and Acadia 24, St. Francis Xavier 11.
At Kingston, Ont., earlier in the extra session, the Gaels picked up a single when a 35-yard field goal attempt went wide.
Ottawa quarterback Brad Sinopoli was 21-of-39 for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Queen's QB Justin Chapdelaine finished 18-of-28 for 335 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 54 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort.
"I feel like our guys executed their best in the biggest moments of the game," said Gee-Gees head coach Jean-Philippe Asselin.
Queen's is off to its worst start since 2005. It was the team's first regular season loss at home in nearly than three years, a streak that ran for 10 consecutive contests.
The Gaels have lost three games this season by eight points or less.
"We played with them, but that's not enough anymore," said Gaels defensive end Frank Pankewich. "I'm sick and tired of saying we almost had them - we stuck with them, but we gotta win the game."
No. 4 Dinos 26, Bisons 25
At Winnipeg, Matt Walter rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown and Eric Dzwilewski passed 147 yards for one TD as Calgary (3-1) stormed out to a 20-3 lead at the half before hanging on for a win over Manitoba (1-3).
No. 5 Mustangs 15, Gryphons 8
At Guelph, Ont., Western Ontario (4-1) spoiled the Gryphons' homecoming party as running back Jerimy Hipperson had a total of 147 yards rushing, taking two carries in for touchdowns.
The Mustangs have won 15 of their last 16 games against No. 10 Guelph (3-1).
No. 8 Mauraders 39, Lancers 3
At Hamilton, Kyle Quinlan threw 222 yards for three touchdowns and McMaster (3-2) had 254 rushing yards in a rout of Windsor (1-4).
No. 9 Gaiters 18, Stingers 17
At Montreal, Josh Maveety connected on a 22-yard field goal with 24 seconds to play to give the Gaiters (3-1) a win.
Concordia fell to 2-2 on the season.
Mounties 23, Huskies 21
At Moncton, Jon Szilagyi kicked four field goals as Mount Allison (2-1) held off Saint Mary's (0-3) in the Mounties' first win over the Huskies in 23 games.
Wilfrid Laurier 68, York 14
At Waterloo, Ont., Wilfrid Laurier (2-2) recorded 436 net yards in a laugher over winless York (0-4).

At Wolfville, N.S., quarterback Kyle Graves went 21-for-33 for 254 yards and one touchdown as Acadia (2-1) defeated St. FX (0-3).
