The Canadian Tour will return to Latin America next month, co-sanctioning the inaugural Latin American Tour Championship in Bogota, Colombia.

The top 35 available players from the 2010 Canadian Tour Order of Merit will get exemptions into the event, which takes place December 16-19 at the Guaymaral Country Club. The event will also award Official World Ranking Points.

"It is always an honour to receive an invitation to showcase our top players," says Richard Janes, Commissioner and CEO of the Canadian Tour. "What's equally gratifying is that so many top players from Latin America have qualified to play the full Canadian circuit as a result of our presence there."

The Canadian Tour first made inroads into Latin America in 2008. Players from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia are now regular participants on the Canadian Tour. With the Olympics coming to Rio de Janeiro in 2016 efforts to support player development in the region are on the upswing.
