Bryn Parry

The Canadian PGA has unveiled the very first CPGA Player Rankings, becoming the first PGA in the PGA World Alliance to rank their own playing members.

Based on a hybrid of the World Golf Rankings and other national rankings, the Canadian PGA Player Rankings will calculate results on a three-year cycle for all Canadian PGA National Championships and the Zone Championship from all nine Canadian PGA Zones. Points are awarded on a sliding scale based on each National Championship and on the field size of each Zone Championship.

Bryn Parry of North Vancouver, B.C., has the honour of being the first ever number one ranked CPGA player heading into the 2011 season. Parry is considered one of the best Canadian PGA playing professionals over the last decade and his point accumulation since 2008 includes two runner-up finishes in the Canadian PGA Assistant's Championship and 1st, 2nd & 4th place finishes in the BC Zone Championship.

In 2007, Parry made it all the way to the final stage of PGA Tour Q-school, missing his card by just a single shot, earning full time status on the Nationwide Tour.

"I'm absolutely pumped to be recognized as the number one ranked player in the entire Canadian PGA," said Parry. "I'll do my best to remain at the top of this list for as long as I can."

Quebec's Dave Levesque, who was named the 2010 Player of the Year in the Ontario Zone, is ranked second followed by Danny King, a two-time CPGA club professional champion.
