Stacy Lewis, Morgan Pressel, Natalie Gulbis and Alena Sharp
Stacy Lewis, Morgan Pressel, Natalie Gulbis, and Alena Sharp have been added to the field for the inaugural Manulife Financial LPGA Classic at Grey Silo Golf Course this June.
Lewis has certainly proven herself to be one of the premier female golfers in the world, finishing the 2011 season fourth on the LPGA Money List, racking up 12 top 10 results including her first major title at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Lewis has shown no signs of slowing down in 2012, winning the Mobile Bay LPGA Classic just two weeks ago, vaulting her to seventh in the latest world rankings.
Pressel is the youngest-ever winner of a modern LPGA major championship and is a three time U.S. Solheim Cup team member, going undefeated in singles play.
Gulbis, in her 11th season on the Tour and always a fan-favourite, says she's looking forward to the week at Grey Silo in Waterloo, Ontario.
"As a first-year event on the tour, the players on the LPGA Tour are extremely happy to be going to this beautiful area of Canada to play," said Gulbis. " We have heard great things about the golf course and the community and I look forward to playing soon."
Sharp, from nearby Hamilton, Ont., has eight career wins as a professional while playing on the Canadian Women's Tour, the West Coast Ladies, and the Cactus Tour. She's currently the second highest ranked Canadian player on the LPGA.
"The excitement continues to build and we are thrilled to be announcing the commitment of these four world-class players. We are looking forward to hosting the world's best players in June," said Tournament Director Richard Kuypers.
