Will Wilcox fired the fourth ever round of 59 recorded on the Web.com Tour on Sunday but it was Steven Alker who took the win in a playoff at the Utah Championship.

Wilcox, who started on the back nine, was 10-under through 13 holes but needed to birdie his final two holes to reach the magic number. However, it left him one stroke shy of Alker and Ashley Hall, who proceeded to a playoff tied at 22-under par.

Alker made par on the first playoff hole to claim his third career Web.com Tour victory.

Wilcox finished tied for third with Ben Martin (66) and third-round leader Chad Collins (69). Collins also had a chance to shoot 59 in Friday's second round, but he parred his final six holes.

Notah Begay III, Doug Dunakey and Jason Gore are the only other players to shoot 59 on the Web.com Tour.

Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C. and Roger Sloan of Merritt, B.C. finished tied for seventh at 19-under par. For Hadwin it's his second straight top-10 result while it was Sloan's first top-10 result of the year. It also snapped a streak of seven straight missed cuts.

Richard Scott of Kingsville, Ont., finished tied for 21st after shooting a second straight round of 67. It's his best result of the year in 15 starts.

Matt Hill of Brights Grove, Ont., failed to make the weekend cut.
