Pin High golf apparel
David Hearn will sport a new look when he starts his second career stint on the PGA Tour in January.
The 31-year-old from Brantford, Ont., will wear clothes made by Pin High Canada, based in Markham, Ont. He had previously played in the Hollas line of apparel made by Second Skin Garment Co. of Toronto.
Pin High has about 30 players under contract globally to wear its clothes, which combine classic styles with high-tech fabrics. In North America, the players include two-time PGA Tour winner Daniel Chopra and two Canadians who played on the Nationwide Tour this year: Dustin Risdon of Strathmore, Alta., and Yohann Benson of Montreal.
Spencer Sebastian, president and chief executive officer of Pin High Canada, said in an e-mail that the company is negotiating to bring two other "high-profile players" into the fold. He couldn't reveal their names.
Pin High is also the official clothing partner of the Canadian Tour.
With the Pin High logo on his sleeve, Hearn plans to make his season debut at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He is returning to the PGA Tour after five years on the lower-tier Nationwide. He earned his card on the big tour by placing 21st on the 2010 Nationwide money list.
Pin High said he's a good match for its product line. "David continues to strengthen his position as one of the up and coming young players in the world and build a reputation as a style
trend-setter," Sebastian said in a news release. "He's admired for his demeanour and the clean, professional look he brings to the course every day."
Terms of the sponsorship deal were not revealed.
