Former NHL great Vincent Damphousse headlines the list of inductees who will enter the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Hall of Fame next spring.
Robert Desjardins and Martin Lapointe will also be inducted in the players category while Harold MacKay will enter as a builder, the QMJHL announced Tuesday.
Damphousse played three seasons with the Laval Voisins before going on to play 18 seasons in the NHL.
He won a President Cup with the Voisins in his rookie QMJHL campaign. Damphousse recorded 368 points (123 goals, 245 assists) in 229 games.
He later played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens and San Jose Sharks. He won a Stanley Cup with the Habs in 1993 and was captain of the team from 1996-'99.
Desjardins played four seasons in the QMJHL for four different teams: the Shawinigan Cataractes, Hull Olympiques, Longueil Chevaliers and Victoriaville Tigres.
He won the Michel-Briere Trophy as league MVP in 1987 and also won two straight Jacques-Plante Trophies for best goals-against average.
Desjardins, who played in three Memorial Cup tournaments, later played university hockey with Concordia and spent three seasons with the Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League.
Lapointe played four seasons in the QMJHL with Laval. He recorded 338 points (149-189) in 195 games. The two-time first-team all-star won President Cup titles in 1990 and 1993.
Lapointe helped Canada win two gold medals at the world junior hockey championship (1991, 1993). He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1991 and went on to play 16 seasons in the NHL.
Lapointe won Stanley Cup titles in 1997 and 1998 with the Red Wings. He also played for the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators.
MacKay was behind the idea of establishing the first QMJHL team in the Maritimes, helping bring the Mooseheads to Halifax in 1994. He won the John-Horman Trophy as administrator of the year in 1997.
The induction ceremony will be held at the Hyatt-Regency Hotel in Montreal on April 6.
