The Edmonton Oilers assigned left-winger Linus Omark to Oklahoma City of the AHL on Friday, less than three weeks after being criticized for showboating in his NHL debut.
Omark took a lot of heat for the spin-o-rama goal he scored in a 4-3 shootout win over Tampa Bay on Dec. 10, his first-ever NHL game. Omark defended the move, saying has always enjoyed entertaining a hockey crowd.
The Oilers recalled the 23-year-old Omark on Dec. 8 and he registered a goal and four assists in eight appearances with the NHL club.
The five-foot-10, 174-pound Swede has appeared in 26 games with Oklahoma City, registering 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists).
