For the second straight game, William Nylander scored to help Sweden to a 5-1 victory over Denmark at the world junior hockey championship on Saturday.
Nylander, the first round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, scored with 32 seconds in the opening period to give Sweden a 3-0 lead at that point, spelling the end of Danish netminder Georg Sorensen, who could not replicate his performance from Friday in which Denmark nearly upset Russia before losing in a shootout.
Jacob de la Rose had a goal and two assists to pace the Swedish attack. Anton Blidh, Sebastian Aho and Lucas Wallmark also scored for the Swedes, who improved to 2-0.
Nick Olesen snapped Linus Soderstrom's bid for a shutout just over a minute into the second period for Denmark, who now have a loss and a shootout loss.
Denmark are set to face the Czech Republic on Monday while the Swedes prepare to face Russia, also on Monday.
