Blair McIntosh, Canada's chef de mission at the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics, has been appointed director of sport for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games.
McIntosh, a Toronto native, has been director of games for the Sport Alliance of Ontario for the past six years. He's also served as the Ontario team's chef de mission at six Canada Games.
McIntosh worked in the sport unit of the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation for 23 years before joining the City of London as director, sport tourism.
"Blair McIntosh has an intimate and extensive knowledge of the sporting capabilities in each of the 17 communities that will help us host the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games," Ian Troop, CEO of Toronto's organizing committee — TO2015 — said in a statement.
"Blair embodies the passion for sport and the volunteer spirit that the Toronto 2015 Games will be built upon."
The Toronto 2015 Pan American Games will take place July 10-26 and the Parapan American Games August 7-14.
