Courageous Cat is the early 3-1 favourite for the $1-million Grade 1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile thoroughbred race.

Courageous Cat, a five-year-old trained by Bill Mott, drew the No. 4 post in the 12-horse field and will be ridden by Pat Venezuela.

Mott won the inaugural Mile event in '97 with Geri while Valenzuela captured the '06 event aboard Becrux.

Toronto Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer served as the guest drawmaster at Woodbine Racetrack.

British-bred Side Glance, the 4-1 second early selection, will break from the No. 9 post in Sunday's turf race at Woodbine.

Turallure is the 5-1 third early pick and drew the No. 8 post.

Court Vision, last year's race winner, will go from the 12th post.

For the fourth straight year, the race winner will secure a berth in the Breeders' Cup Mile, slated for Nov. 5 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
