Norway's Maiken Caspersen Falla and Marit Bjoergen won cross-country gold at a World Cup event Sunday while Canada's Chandra Crawford and Daria Gaiazova finished fifth.
The Norwegians finished the classic ski team sprint relay in 19 minutes 30.8 seconds. Italy's Magda Genuin and Marianna Longa took silver and Norway's Kari Vikhagen Gjeitnes and Celine Brun-Lie won bronze.
Gaiazova, of Banff, Alta., and Crawford, of nearby Canmore, Alta., were almost a minute off the lead.
"It was a little different in that we just had the one heat today, but it was really fun to go and hammer it out and fight for position," said Gaiazova.
Norway's Ola Vigen Hattestad and Johan Kjoelstad won gold in the men's race in 21:47.1. Sweden's Jesper Modin and Mats Larsson won silver and Norway's Eirik Brandsdal and John Kristian Dahl took the bronze.
Canada did not have a men's team entered in the race.
