All things seem possible now for Pang Qing and Tong Jian, who won their second world figure-skating title yesterday.

Skating to The Impossible Dream, the veteran couple from China tossed off fatigue and won comfortably with 211.39 points, well ahead of silver medalists Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany (204.74). The Germans are two-time pairs world champions, and also finished behind Pang and Tong at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Finishing third at the Palavela arena yesterday after falling hard on a rare quadruple throw Salchow attempt was Yuko Kavaguti and Alexander Smirnov of Russia (203.79).

Canadian champions Jessica Dubé of Drummondville, Que., and Bryce Davison of Huntsville, Ont., finished sixth overall, moving up from eighth after the short program.

Anabelle Langlois of Grand-Mère, Que., and Cody Hay of Grande Prairie, Alta., finished 10th.

Yesterday's results mean Canada will be able to send only two pairs to worlds next year in Japan, instead of the maximum three.
