Tina Maze of Slovenia was fastest in training Wednesday for the first women's World Cup downhill of the season in Lake Louise, Alta.
Maze, an Olympic gold medalist in both downhill and giant slalom this year, posted a time of one minute 50.72.
Norway's Lotte Smiseth Sejersted was second in 1:51.12. She was the quickest in the first training run Tuesday.
Austria's Ramona Siebenhofer finished third in 1:52. U.S. ski star Lindsey Vonn was eighth.
Larisa Yurkiw of Owen Sound, Ont., was 46th.
A third training run is scheduled for Thursday followed by downhill races both Friday and Saturday. A super-G concludes the Lake Louise World Cup on Sunday.
