Canada's Daniel Nestor and partner Max Mirnyi went down to rivals Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes 6-7 (7-9), 7-6 (8-6), 10-8 in the semi-finals at the Queen's Club on Saturday, playing two matches in one day because of weather delays.

Nestor's second-seeded team started its long day with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 quarter-final win over Swede Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau of Romania.

The 38-year-old Nestor and his Belarusian partner lost in the semi-finals to India's Bhupathi and Paes despite holding a match point in the second set tiebreaker.

"It was my fault," said Nestor. "I was serving up a set and a break and I hit two double-faults. I also had one in the tiebreak. It's just one of those things.

"On our match point, they made a huge return that we couldn't handle."

Nestor was optimistic heading into the start of Wimbledon in just over a week despite the semi-final loss.

"It was a tough one to swallow today," said the Toronto native. "We probably should have lost the first match, but we should have won this one. I'm a bit down right now but we'll bounce back for Wimbledon.

"This is a good week to get acclimatized to the grass. We'll train next week and when Wimbledon starts we'll be fine."

Nestor claimed Queen's trophies in 2003 with Mark Knowles, defeating current partner Mirnyi and Bhupathi in the final. Four years later, his team beat American twins Bob and Mike Bryan.

Nestor won his last Queen's title in 2008 with Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic.
