WHAT'S HAPPENING TODAY (ALL TIMES ET)

Men's 200-metre final

Andre De Grasse took the silver medal in the men's 200-metre final. Not surprisingly, Jamaica's Usain Bolt won gold – his second of the games and his third consecutive in the Olympic 200 m race.

De Grasse's success at his first Olympic Games has earned him due recognition as one of the fastest men on earth, but it's his strange, almost awkward sprinting form that has fans, sprinters, and even scientists scratching their heads, reports The Globe's Rachel Brady.

Wrestling

Canadian wrestler Erica Wiebe won gold in the women's freestyle 75 kg wrestling Thursday evening. The 27-year-old from Ottawa defeated 38-year-old Guzel Manyurova of Kazakhstan, a silver medalist in Athens 12 years ago, in the finals. With the victory, Wiebe follows in the footsteps of two-time Olympic medalist Carol Huynh, the winner of Canada's first-ever gold in women's wrestling in Beijing eight years ago, and Tonya Verbeek, who finished on the podium at three separate Games.

Canada's Meaghan Benfeito dives to bronze in the women's 10m platform final at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Decathlon

Canada's Damian Warner took the bronze in the men's decathlon Thursday night. Ashton Eaton of the United States won gold for the title of 'the world's greatest athlete'.

Diving

Canadian divers Meaghan Benfeito has landed on the podium for a second time in Rio with a bronze medal in the women's 10-metre platform. The Montreal-born diver also won a bronze medal in synchronized 10-metre platform with partner Rosaline Filion earlier in these games, and in London in 2012.

Golf

Brooke Henderson, Canada's top women's golfer who finished the first round of the Olympic tournament at one-under, climbed the leaderboard on the second day of play. Her round of 64 leaves her at eight-under, good for a third-place tie, after two rounds.
