Canada beat China in the preliminary round by a score of 90-68.Canada, seeking its first podium finish in Olympic basketball, reached the quarter-finals in London 2012 and are determined to get a medal this time around.

Kylie Masse of LaSalle, Ont.,
won the bronze medal in the 100-metre backstroke at the Olympic Aquatics Stadium. She finished in a tie for third with a Canadian record time of 58.76 seconds. giving Canada three medals in three days in the pool.
