Christine Sinclair continued her scoring streak as Canada defeated Mexico 1-0 Sunday at the Torneio Internacional Cidade de Sao Paulo women's soccer event.
Sinclair scored in the 22nd minute when she chipped the ball past Mexican goalkeeper Erika Vanegas for the 111th goal of her international career.
Sinclair, Canada's captain, now has four goals in her last three international matches.
Canada has defeated Mexico three times in the past five weeks, including a 1-0 victory in the final of the CONCACAF Women's World Cup qualifying tournament.
Sunday's loss eliminated Mexico from the tournament final.
"It was a tough match because Mexico had to win," said Canadian coach Carolina Morace.
Goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc posted the clean sheet, her fifth straight and eighth of the season.
Canada remains in first place with six points in the four-country tournament.
Canada's last group opponent is host Brazil. Both teams have already qualified for next Sunday's final.
This is Canada's final international tournament of the season as it prepares for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany in June.
