ironman streak ends

You can take your Cal Ripken ironman streak. Brett Favre's consecutive weeks starting at quarterback in the NFL? Okay, sure.

But you want a streak? This is a streak. Calgary Stampeders equipment manager George Hopkins wore shorts every day for 5,578 days, a run that dates back to the 1995 Grey Cup in Regina when the wind chill was -20 C.

There is no better proof that the weather is going to be an issue on Sunday than the fact that Hopkins wore long pants on Thursday, it was, afterall, -23C.

If cold weather football is your thing - and it's definitely my thing providing I'm watching it on television - tip your hat to Hopkins, and watch this reel of bad weather football put together by TSN.
