SmugMug's feature set is driven by the needs and demands of professional photographers. Photos are stored as original, full-resolution files, not reduced in quality to save storage space. The site provides calibration prints and ICC profiles for colour management. And SmugMug offers hard-to-find print sizes in matte, gloss, lustre, metallic, canvas, and Giclée watercolour. Photo processing can be done at Bay Photo, a professional lab, or at EZ Prints, a prosumer lab with quick turnaround and wholesale prices. SmugMug also supports popular photo software including Lightroom, Aperture, iPhoto, and Picasa.
Pro members can set their own prices for photo sales, create custom coupons for promotions, and create custom single and multi-image packages for sale. Photo galleries can be unlisted, password-protected, or marked with custom watermarks.
