Alex Wauthy is a former academic intern with The Globe and Mail on the sports desk.

Alex has completed his first year in Carleton University's Master of Journalism program. Previously, he’s worked for CBC Radio in Victoria and interned at CBC Sports as an associate producer. His work has also appeared in The Hockey News magazine.

At CBC Sports, Alex wrote stories on representation in hockey on and off the ice.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist to share people’s stories and produce meaningful journalism that matters to Canadians. Whether it’s in-depth storytelling or breaking news, journalism helps inform the world of its surroundings.
