Why did you become a journalist?

Originally hoping to be a fantasy novelist, I transitioned to journalism in high school when I discovered the beauty behind real local stories within in my own community. I'm most invested in character-driven city news stories that speak to the wider world we live in. I want everyday people to feel seen in the type of reporting I do.
