She is a psychologist, research professor, author, and media commentator known for translating the science of human development, psychology, and education into insights that resonate with the public.

With more than 25 years as a registered psychologist and professor at the University of Victoria, she speaks with authority on issues shaping the lives of children, families, and educators – from youth mental health and the impact of digital media to the resilience of communities navigating post-pandemic change.

She is the founder of MindKey Health Clinics and the author of multiple award-winning and best-selling children’s books, guiding young readers through complex social and emotional challenges with empathy and clarity.

A mother of three, she divides her life between Victoria, B.C., and PEI, balancing family, work, and her passions. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys cooking, tennis, reading historical fiction, and tending her garden.

Through my journalism, I seek to make the insights of psychology both accessible and actionable, helping families and communities better understand themselves and the world around them.
