Jess is The Globe and Mail's Puzzles and Games Editor, overseeing the creation, editing and publication of the Globe's games content online and in print. She is an accomplished constructor of both cryptic and standard North American-style crossword puzzles, and she has published puzzles in The Globe and Mail, The Walrus, the New York Times, USA Today, Universal Crosswords, the Los Angeles Times, The Browser, AVCX and Cryptic Crossweird.
Before joining The Globe and Mail in 2026, Jess spent nearly a decade as a freelance editor, and before that, she worked in a range of in-house corporate roles, helping businesses create or refine their written content across communications, marketing, thought leadership, proposals and other business areas.
