Olivia Grandy is a reporter for ROB at The Globe and Mail. She is a Saskatchewan-born, Toronto-based multimedia journalist who loves figuring out how to piece together answers for audiences.
A recent graduate of Carleton University, Olivia was an academic intern at CBC and on The Globe's daily news podcast, The Decibel, where she helped cover Canada's 2025 federal election.
After those stints, she worked as a summer staffer for Carleton's flagship news publication, Capital Current, and then made her way back to the Prairies, where she reported on rural economic issues, provincial politics, health, trade and even the success story of a local cheerleading uniform factory for The Saskatoon StarPhoenix.
Informed by a grain-farm upbringing, Olivia feels grateful for the opportunity to ask tough questions and help readers stay curious in a time of news avoidance. When she's not brainstorming story ideas, you'll find Olivia junk journaling, trying a new workout or corralling her friends for a game night.
