Om Shanbhag is a staff reporter at The Globe and Mail, based in Toronto.

Om got his start in journalism at his student paper in university, the Western Gazette, where he reported science stories, labour issues and human-interest pieces. He was recognized by the Canadian Association of Journalists for his work on transportation issues faced by nursing students and by the Canadian University Press on his science reporting.
