Susan Krashinsky Robertson is a business reporter covering the retail sector in Canada.

In her time with The Globe, Susan has broken stories including allegations of rotting meat at fast food restaurants; how Canada's oldest company, Hudson's Bay, fell apart; the insolvent Bay's plans to sell off its 1670 charter, a foundational document of Canadian history; and accusations of embezzlement at a beer brewing giant. She has also covered issues such as the growing problem of retail theft spurred by organized crime and resulting in violence against workers; the business implications of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; the growing cost of cyberattacks for businesses, and the environmental impacts of plastic packaging. Susan has also written for the Globe's Arts section, and was a finalist for a National Newspaper Award for her feature looking at the behind-the-scenes creation of Karen Kain’s Swan Lake.

In 2023, Susan was part of a team that won the Michener Award for excellence in Canadian public service journalism, for coverage of Hockey Canada’s response to sexual assault allegations against players.

Before joining The Globe and Mail in 2009, Susan worked as a freelance reporter contributing to CBC Radio, as well as publications including the Ottawa Citizen and the Montreal Gazette. During her studies toward a Masters degree in journalism at Carleton University, she participated in a program working at a radio station in Kigali, Rwanda. She has also lived in Osaka, Japan.
