Ten years ago, The Tragically Hip played their last show. On Aug. 20, 2016, the iconic Canadian band performed a massive concert in their hometown of Kingston, Ont. – televised for over 11 million people.
A decade later, the band is still a firm part of Canada’s cultural identity. A four-part Amazon documentary on The Hip premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024, the jukebox musical It’s a Good Life If You Don’t Weaken made its premiere in May in Hamilton and is headed to other Canadian cities, and Bobcaygeon is still a campfire mainstay across the country.
